At NerdGuys Smart Systems™, we are proud installers of Ring Floodlight Cameras for homes and businesses. A properly installed camera can help discourage theft, improve visibility and give property owners a clearer view of what is happening outside, even when they are away.

The Ring Floodlight Cam combines powerful lighting, motion detection, live video, instant phone alerts, Two Way Talk and a built in siren. When motion is detected, the floodlights can illuminate the area while the Ring app notifies the property owner. Users can then open the live feed, see what is happening and speak through the camera from their phone. Compatible models can also use Smart Alerts to identify people and reduce unnecessary notifications caused by other movement.

You may be wondering what happens when a raccoon walks through the yard at three in the morning. Nobody wants to be awakened every time an animal passes by. Person Detection can help focus alerts on human activity while reducing notifications from other sources of motion. Motion Zones can also be adjusted so the camera watches important areas such as a driveway, entrance or backyard instead of a busy sidewalk. When suspicious activity occurs, the homeowner can activate the built in siren or use Two Way Talk to address the person directly. Bright lights, an audible warning and visible cameras may encourage a potential intruder to leave before attempting to damage a door, window or vehicle.

Ring cameras can also be connected with a complete Ring Alarm system containing contact sensors, motion detectors, keypads and sirens. Eligible customers can add professional monitoring, which may request emergency assistance when an alarm is triggered.

We have installed Ring systems for both businesses and homes. During one incident involving a Range Rover parked outside a residence, suspicious individuals approached the property late at night. The alarm activated, the homeowner received access to the live feed and the integrated security system entered its emergency response process. The individuals left without attempting to break the vehicle window.

No security product can guarantee that theft will never occur. However, strong lighting, visible cameras, intelligent alerts, recorded video and an integrated alarm system can create several important layers of protection.

At NerdGuys Smart Systems™, we do more than mount a camera. We carefully position, connect and configure each system to provide useful coverage, reliable notifications and convenient control. A security camera should not simply record what happened. It should help you become aware of suspicious activity while there is still time to respond.
